About us

Good Health was established in 1987 by John Blanchard, former General Manager of Yates New Zealand, and major agricultural business.

He spent over 20 years within Yates, during which time he developed a passion for natural health. Whilst there he was involved in the first New Zealand trial of growing Evening Primrose seed.

On establishing Good Health he initiated Evening Primrose being grown under contract on the Canterbury Plains, and utilised this oil to make his first Natural Health product EPO. Then other New Zealand raw material products were introduced such as Flax oil, Colostrum, Propolis, Bee Pollen, Squalene, Sharkalige and Green Lipped mussel.

Since, the business has continued to grow, and the range of products has developed to include complex naturopathic herbal formulations. 

With John's passing in early 2003, his sons Dave and Brian became Directors.

In January 2005 the business moved into a purpose built manufacturing facility in the Upper Harbour Industrial Estate on Auckland’s North Shore. The complex includes offices, a sophisticated manufacturing plant and a warehouse and distribution centre.
